A Baseball Scrapbook

Here is a scrapbook that I made to give to my son's baseball coach. If you have seen many of my scrapbooks you will know that this is very simple compared to most, I thought a simple layout would be more appealing to a male. I just used Red, Black and White solids for the entire album.

This is the cover of the album which I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Isn't it cute!

Generally I like to make the title page a little more detailed than the rest of the pages. This is how my title page turned out. I made the cardinal using the 50 States cart from Provo Craft and the lettering along the side and top is the Learning Curve font. This is by far my favorite font cart from Provo Craft. I used a little chalk to highlight the wing on the bird.

The page was made using Design Studio, but it really did not turn out like I wanted. I used a rectangle shape and thought I stretched into an 8 1/2 X 11 size (the album size I am using) then I thought I reduced just the top and the right enough to fit the letters. That is not how it turned out, so maybe the next time I can get it right. Oh well, it looks OK as it is. I used pop dots on the cardinal and bat and cut the word Cardinals using the Provo Craft Cursive 101 cart and welded them in DS. The "Spring 2010" are just stickers I had.

Next are my pages in order as they fell in the book. The balance of my lettering was done in
SCAL (using Gilligans Island font) and the shapes were cut using PC Sports Mania and the Baseball Solutions carts.

I made a page at the end for the boys on the team to write a short Thank You to the coach. Most of them just signed their names, I guess they are just men-in-training of few words!

I think it turned out well for how quickly I put it together. I started it on Saturday and finished it by Tuesday afternoon. That is record speed for me!

  1. Very cute idea! I'm sure the coach will treasure this forever (even if he is a man).
